Have done very well since leaving the mud hole with credit going to the teachers and coaches in said mud hole helping me prepare for the bigger waters.
As for this being uncommon and an exception, you may be referring to your high school but you are clearly unaware of the success Burg students have had outside the mud hole. The list is extensive and extremely impressive: doctors, lawyers, engineers, pharmacists, banking, management, etc. and I’m just referring to my class of 108.![]()

Sounds like those kids have a lot in common with the kids I graduated with from Burg. Lots of us chose where we took our talents as well.798924 wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 4:23 pmIn northern va its mostly not a question of if succesfull. Finishing wherever in your class means nothing. I finished like 40th out of 60 or so and I’m pretty sure I’m top 3 as far as income and whatnot goes. There’s plenty of people whose high school grades weren’t the best that went on to be something.

Your not wrong there is many successful business men from SW I know didn't do great in school and now they are very successful when no one else thought they would be because they worked hard. The Ghost of Swanker wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 4:38 pm Finishing wherever in your class means nothing. “798924” is the Man of Many Names. Not sure the stats, but I would guess he’s had more usernames banned from this site than anyone else. This one will probably get banned sooner than later. Once again… you prove a point that you are not an educator. If you were, you would know that Ohio school report cards are the same across the entire state. Everyone school is measured the same so a 4.5 star school in SE Ohio meets the same standard as a big city Cincinnati school. If one just listens, they can tell you are not truthful. You probably even live in our area. All I ask is that your respect other people’s opinions without name calling.avalanche wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 4:13 pmYou again? For how successful and intelligent you claim to be you can't seem to apply the logic in any instance. Saying a school is a 4.5 star school really means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Is a 4.5 in SEO the same as a 4.5 in Cincy metro? That's the point.RBH23 wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 2:13 pmComparing Wheelersburg (town of 6,000) to Cincinnati metro with a population of $2.3MM? Right? Again, the same response about academics on a sports forum. You can see they're in full attack mode against Ironton, which is comical.
I also agree, Wheelersburg compared to metro- Cincy schools dwarf their academic achievement based on a state report card. We have kids going to MIT, Harvard, Yale, Michigan, UVa, Duke and Stanford yearly. The superior academic achievement comments are relative and subjective if you actually compare them to schools state wide. Cool, Wheelersburg is outdoing Rock Hill, no one cares.
Can only speak for myself: finished 25th in class of 108 at Burg so not the greatest. Had no troubles in undergrad or grad school; Burg schools prepared me well. And now doing far better professionally than the vast majority you mention in the Cincinnati metro area. But I’m not nearly the exception in my class at Burg. Numerous others have done extremely well in medicine, finance, business, athletics, etc leaving their mark all over the country.
Not bad from a town of 6,000 and a class size of 108.
You're doing better off than the vast number of grads who have gone to Ivy and public Ivy based on the quantitative data I am sure you have to support your claim. We are all so proud of you.
Such a strange claim to make on a sports forum. I am doing better than the top 1% of Cincy metro in life because I said so. That can be measured I am sure. Cool story man. We are all very impressed.
Re: Impressive
First, YOU made the ridiculous comparison of Wheelersburg versus Cincinnati metro. And for the record, the star scoring system is the same regardless of school district.avalanche wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 4:13 pmYou again? Second, I didn’t say I’m doing better in life like you claimed. Also did not say I’m in the top 1%. I said I’m doing better professionally than the vast majority. And yes, that can be measured.
Third, you call my claim “strange” for a sports forum, however it’s not when you consider prior texts and context.
Reading comprehension is clearly not your strength.

Yeah, the poster really struggles with comprehension of what is said to them. They can’t get by their own thoughts because they have family who are coaches/AD.RBH23 wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 7:42 pmFirst, YOU made the ridiculous comparison of Wheelersburg versus Cincinnati metro. The ____ measuring in SEOPS has gotten ridiculous. You all sound asinine. Let the idiots talk to themselves. Better to be suspected an idiot and keep your mouth shut, than to open it and remove all doubt.

Coming from a non-educator it really means nothing what you believe. I said not all rankings are equal in measurement.
Example:
(metro Cincy school) Loveland High School: Avg ACT 28, AVG SAT 1310, AP Courses offered 17, AP Exam pass rate 85%
Wheelersburg: Avg ACT 26, AVG SAT NR, AP Courses offered 3, AP Exam pass rate 52%.
Now, tell me all things are equal because you googled Ohio High School Report Card scores. This is why non-educators who try and make points based on information they have no idea how to interpret look silly.
