Re: Ovc Scheduling
This season has showed that the OVC is down, and there is a lot of work to get it back to where it needs to be. The main problem a lot of the schools in the OVC are having is lack of depth on their rosters, they may have a lot of players but the dropoff from 1st string to 2nd string is so great that when they have to sub in and out you put yourself at a disadvantage.

Re: Ovc Scheduling
Standings going into OVC PLay
Coal Grove 4-1
Fairland 1-4
River Valley 1-4
South Point 1-4
Chesapeake 0-5
Rock Hill 0-5
Total 7-23 (.233) That is not acceptable for any conference, but what is the alternative, schedule weak and make you conference look weak by beating up on smaller, weaker schools.

I think the new coach has made believers out of them. I’m not sure what they return, but believe they should have another winning season.YOU'RE TIGER BAIT wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 10:49 am the emergence of rock hills year being much better will be a huge pleasant change. i lived in that district for 32 years.

i coached jesse carmon when he was in grade school. he has played pro ball, arena ball, semi pro bowl. helped coach at ashland, ky. and they won a state championship. i coached him at rock hill, when i lived in the district. he left in high school to play at ironton, like my boys did in junior high. and he has returned to rock hill to help coach high school football. and i think it has been greatly successful. he's a great guy. he spent tons of time at our house with the young baits in the baitcave back at kitts hill. gosh, that seems so long ago.

It is great to see the Rock Hill program continue to improve. I feel they will continue to improve with the coaching staff they have now. As they continue to improve, more kids will go out there for their chance to play. Rock Hill’s academics are continuing to improve as well plus their teachers are at the top of the county salary wise. Great academics and great athletics is definitely something a person can cheer about. They have their priorities straight!!

Rock Hill is stepping up their game with some coaches they are bringing in. I would say they will be competitive this year in the OVC.TigersGameDayFan wrote: Mon Feb 17, 2025 1:15 pmAlmost certain he never played pro football...Maybe the semi pro mens league in portsmouth but thats about it.YOU'RE TIGER BAIT wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2025 10:53 am i coached jesse carmon when he was in grade school. he has played pro ball, arena ball, semi pro bowl. helped coach at ashland, ky. and they won a state championship. i coached him at rock hill, when i lived in the district. he left in high school to play at ironton, like my boys did in junior high. and he has returned to rock hill to help coach high school football. and i think it has been greatly successful. he's a great guy. he spent tons of time at our house with the young baits in the baitcave back at kitts hill. gosh, that seems so long ago.

Re: Ovc Scheduling
Coach Love has definitely brought a much needed shift in culture at Rock Hill. He’s also been a game manager during the games, allowing Jesse Carmen to call the offense and Trey Wilds to call the defense. After Coach Love is done, I’m sure one of those two will be the head coach.

Sounds like an efficient way to run a team. Was this not the way it was previously??OVC wrote: Wed Feb 19, 2025 10:53 am Coach Love has definitely brought a much needed shift in culture at Rock Hill.
